B&R Eckel’s is seeking a Business Development Manager in Heavy Haul to support customer growth and market development connected to Nisku, AB.

This role focuses on new business, customer relationships, market research, proposals, and collaboration with operations to support complex transportation needs.

Role Description

  • Identify new business opportunities and build customer relationships in heavy haul and over-dimensional freight.
  • Develop strategic plans to increase sales and support growth in targeted transportation markets.
  • Collaborate with operations to ensure client needs are understood and transportation solutions are practical.
  • Create presentations and proposals, attend industry events, and provide strong customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the heavy haul and overdimensional freight market.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with shippers, manufacturers, project managers, and logistics coordinators.
  • Collaborate with operations to ensure accurate quoting, planning, and execution of complex loads.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote services and generate leads.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform strategic sales initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals tailored to client requirements.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales or business development within trucking, logistics, or transportation.
  • Strong understanding of heavy haul, overdimensional freight, permitting, and route planning.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Competence in creating presentations and proposals.
  • Ability to perform market research and sales forecasting.
  • Self-motivated with a track record of exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work on-site in Nisku, AB.
